Mixolydian Pentatonic
The Mixolydian Pentatonic is a less known scale but widely used by guitarists like Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Joe Bonamassa and Eric Gales, just to mention a few. This is because it works very well when used over Dom7 chords allowing you to have a Pentatonic vibe in your playing with a “Dominant 7th” sound to your lines. In addition you can think it as a Mixolydian scale without the 2 and the 6.
